Makers - Paul Jackman
Paul is the creator behind Jackman Works, a creative venture mixing together woodworking, reclaiming, and upcycling along with videography. He is a one man shop producing weekly entertaining how-to videos on his YouTube channel along with tutorials on his website to inspire others to be imaginative and get out there with their hands creating things. Typically in the form of woodworking, Paul focuses on reclaiming previously used materials, in place of materials from off the shelf, as an environmental statement as well as a way to spark further creativity.
Paul has been "making" his whole life, starting as a kid with just a jig saw and a drill. This has evolved through a vocational high school education at Upper Cape Tech and a half dozen varied jobs in the field during this and during his time studying civil engineering at Syracuse University. Following college, Paul worked for a large general contractor on the outskirts of Boston for a few years until the day that he got married and his wife jointed the Coast Guard. Upon her enlistment, Paul relocated his small shop in Boston down to a much larger shop in Rhode Island and begin his full time operation as Jackman Works. Recently relocated to the nation's capital in Washington, DC, Paul continues to grow, sharing his unique creations with his fans and embracing the mentality of being Built for Work.
