ard and that was in the 4E dimension of the boot. I thought this was an unchangeable standard for the U.S. market but came to learn that my new 4E boot was a little narrower than my prior pair, at almost 1/2 inch narrower. Upon speaking to the company, I was told that this dimension can vary slightly depending on where the boot is manufactured. Although I would have preferred a wider boot, the new version remained comfortable and I have already adjusted to the change.

I would challenge anyone to show me a better made, more durable boot. I don't think there is one. My assumption is that this level of quality reflects the manufacturing specification that the Carolina Boot Company hands to their manufacturing partners. I hope that in addition to their material and workmanship standards, they can include a specific dimensional specification to eliminate unexpected size variations for their comfort seeking customers. My new 4E is likely near their old 3E (if they offered that size at one time). I would not like to see my next 4E boot purchase, two years from today, come in at the old 2E dimension.
